I’m Sarah.

I work with media that allows me to explore light and its interaction with our world, particularly charcoal and photography. Their ability to shift quickly from dense, saturated blacks to thin, fragile highlights captures how light defines and transforms what we see.

Contrast structures perception - it hovers between clarity and ambiguity, using the surrounding environment to create an anatomy of light. That light is formed by shapes into an active presence that contours space and depth.

I explore complex visual experiences - an ongoing investigation into how light and darkness operate not as opposites, but as interdependent entities.
